Toronto's stars gather to celebrate The 519 and Toronto's LGBTQ communities at fifth annual Starry Night
TORONTO, June 26, 2012 /CNW/ - On Thursday, June 28th, Cawthra Square Park will be the place to see and be seen as the Green Space on Church is filled with celebrities, politicians, artists, community leaders. The sounds of Toronto's All Star Big Band will fill the park as the who's who of our community join The 519 to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Starry Night.
"Starry Night is our signature Pride event and a perfect kick-off to Pride Weekend" explains Pascal Dessureault, Chair of The 519's Board. "We gather 2,000 of our community's leaders in a unique environment for an elegant soirée under the stars. The Green Space on Church is the place to see out-of-this-world outfits, to mingle with celebrities or to grab a drink with friends."
Starry Night's guest list always attracts a diverse crowd of celebrities, artists, politicians and corporate and community leaders. This year's confirmed guests include CBC's Rick Mercer and Steven and Chris, eTalk's Traci Mechor, Actor Adamo Ruggiero, Comedian Scott Thompson, Cineplex Media CEO Salah Bachir, Newstalk's John Moore, Toronto's Pan/Para Pan Am CEO Ian Troop, MP Olivia Chow, Minister Glen Murray, columnist Shinan Govani, designer Jeremy Laing and nearly a dozen City Councillors.
The program for this year features the beautiful music of the Toronto All-Star Big Band. The crooning continues through the night with a late evening osé and stylish show by Toronto drag performer Sofonda Cox and music by DJs Alessandro and Phil V. The event is presented in partnership with Cineplex Media and BMO Financial Group with décor and styling by BoConcept and L'Atelier.
