Media Advisory - Accelerating Corporate Innovation and Commercialization at Business Innovation Summit 2014
TORONTO, May 26, 2014 /CNW/ - Canada's economy, society and global competitiveness depends in large part on how Canadian firms innovate. Leaders from some of Canada's most innovative companies will describe how they do it at the two-day Business Innovation Summit 2014: Accelerating Corporate Innovation and Commercialization, hosted by The Conference Board of Canada.
Nitin Kawale, President, Cisco Systems Canada Co, will outline Cisco's 5-point plan for accelerating innovation in Canada, including its 10-year, $4-billion investment in Ontario. He will also discuss the importance of collaboration and the largely untapped resource of employees, customers and partners for innovation.
Pat Horgan, Vice-President, Manufacturing, Development and Operations, IBM Canada Ltd. will deliver a luncheon presentation, The Big Data Phenomenon: Using Analysis and Partnerships to Innovate.
Research from The Conference Board of Canada's Centre for Business Innovation will provide new insights into firm-level innovation on topics that include: start-up financing; innovation-related decision making in organizations; and culture—is it the secret sauce?
