EDMONTON, July 22, 2016 /CNW/ - Alberta Innovates Bio Solutions (AI Bio) invites media outlets to a major funding announcement on Wednesday, July 27.
We will be announcing more than 60 projects by researchers and companies who are being provided grants to develop new industrial bioproducts or technologies that use Alberta agriculture and forestry byproducts or other biomass.
The funding is provided under the Alberta Bio Future research and innovation program, aimed at diversifying and strengthening the provincial economy by adding value to Alberta's renewable resources. In addition to reducing our economic reliance on fossil fuel exports, bioproducts and bioindustrial technologies have environmental benefits.
