Media Advisory - Alberta's New Carbon Tax - Will Anyone be getting a rebate?
CALGARY, June 22, 2016 /CNW/ - The provincial government has been trying to put Albertans at ease about the hit they will take from an upcoming carbon tax by suggesting that the impact will be largely limited to households that can most afford it. But is this really the case? Who, if any, will get a rebate?
Tomorrow, The School of Public Policy with authors Jennifer Winter and Sarah Dobson will release a report that examines the income distribution of Albertans, to determine how the rebate and income cutoffs affect different types of Alberta families and answer the question of who will receive a carbon-tax rebate.
This is an issue of critical importance to all Albertans.
