Media Advisory - All Future Shop stores opening early to unleash Diablo III

Special midnight opening events in Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver

BURNABY, BC, May 7, 2012 /CNW/ - Canadians waiting 20 years to fight evil across the wicked world of Sanctuary can once again battle with the release of Diablo III at Future Shop. In celebration of the release of one of the world's most successful Role Playing Game (RPG) series ever made, all Future Shop stores are opening early to satisfy gamer fixes for the third installment in the Diablo franchise by Blizzard Entertainment. Stores are opening their doors on Monday, May 14 at 11:59 p.m. local time, except stores in Quebec and Sudbury, ON who are opening on Tuesday, May 15 at 8:00 a.m. local time due to local bylaws.

Exclusive Diablo III SteelBook and collectibles at Future Shop
Every Future Shop store will have a variety of Diablo III merchandise available for first purchasers of the game at launch:

• Global exclusive Diablo III SteelBook: The first Future Shop customers who purchase Diablo III will receive a limited-edition SteelBook featuring character art and the game's logo. Limited quantities at each store.
• Diablo III mousepads, t-shirts, posters and more.
• $10 credit to Future Shop for a gaming-related purchased in June 2012. Issued to all midnight and 8:00 a.m. opening attendees at every store.

Also, Max Payne 3 releases the same day as Diablo III and will be available for sale on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. T-shirts and other Max Payne 3 swag will also be dished out.

Electrifying Diablo III launch events in Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver
Future Shop will be holding launch events at select stores in Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver to celebrate the release. Customers will have several chances to win the collectibles listed above, and more through the following:

• Costume contest: The best dressed costume characters from the Diablo series have a chance to win a prize pack worth $309 consisting of a Diablo III Collector's Edition and Steelseries Diablo III headset and mouse.
• Draws: By lining-up to purchase Diablo III at one of the three Future Shop launch party locations, customers can win one of two grand prizes via random draw to help conquer the world of Sanctuary:
• HP Pavilion Elite H8-1222 desktop ($999.99 value)
• Toshiba Satellite L755D-04V  laptop ($649.99 value)
