Media advisory - AMI announces coverage of 2012 Paralympic Games
TORONTO, Aug. 22, 2012 /CNW/ - The countdown is on to the 2012 Paralympic Games and Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) will be in London providing comprehensive coverage beginning August 29th through September 9th.
AMI's crew, which includes reporters Carrie Anton and Gary Steeves, both of whom are blind, will be right in the thick of things providing pre and post-event interviews with our Canadian athletes along with in-depth field pieces and a daily AMI Paralympics 2012 Report. In addition, AMI will air a daily, one-hour live described simulcast of all the action from London. The AMI Paralympics 2012 Report will air August 29th at 8:50 pm ET (prior to opening Ceremonies), August 30th through September 8th at 11:00 pm ET and September 9th at 11pm ET immediately following the closing ceremonies. "AMI is an accessibility partner for the 2012 Paralympic Games, enabling Canadians who are blind or have low vision to experience and appreciate fully what the games have to offer," explains John Melville, AMI Vice-President of Programming and Production. "From the joy of success to the heartbreak of defeat, our reporters will describe the athlete's emotions and reactions. AMI's mandate is to make all media accessible to all Canadians and we believe strongly that inclusion is key, and that is precisely what the Paralympic Games are all about."
AMI's support of the 2012 Paralympic Games continues with the final instalment of AMI-tv's original mini-series, Milestones of Champions: The Journeys of Canada's Paralympians. Episode three, featuring profiles on Para-Equestrian rider Lauren Barwick, champion runner Jason Dunkerley, and Boccia Super Athlete Adam Dukovich, will premiere at 7:30pm EDT on Thursday August 23rd. The show will repeat Sat August 25th at 9:30 am & 11:30 pm ET, Sun August 26th at 11:30 am & 11:30 ET, Mon August 27th at 9:00 am & 7:30 pm ET and Thu August 30th at 9:30 pm ET.
