MEDIA ADVISORY - AMI announces special holiday programming in celebration of Canada Day
TORONTO, June 27, 2012 /CNW/ - Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) announced today its lineup of Canadian themed programming that will kick off with a tribute to Canada's Paralympic athletes followed by a full schedule of holiday programming on AMI-tv and AMI-audio.
The premier installment of AMI-tv's original mini-series, Milestones of Champions: The Journeys of Canada's Paralympians featuring an in-depth look at three of Canada's Paralympic hopefuls will air at 7pm EDT on Thursday, June 28th.
"Our goal with this series was to encapsulate the heart and soul of each athlete by highlighting the major challenges and milestones of their athletic careers," says Peter Burke, AMI Vice-President of Marketing and Communications, "and to provide a platform for these athletes to send Canadians their message about participating in sports and living life to its fullest regardless of physical ability."
The series continues with the second and third installments airing July 26th and August 23rd respectively.
July 1st programming on AMI-tv will feature an AMI Sharp Focus marathon showcasing all eight episodes from this past season beginning at 7:30am EDT right through to a described simulcast of Canada Day in the Capital, CBC's live coverage of festivities from Parliament Hill starting at noon.
AMI-audio celebrates Canada's 144th birthday with a variety of themed programming including:
- The 2nd Annual Stephen Leacock Sampler airing July 1st at 2pm and 6pm
- A Brief History of the War of 1812 airing at 10am and 10pm on July 1st
- Two encore presentations on AMI Contact featuring an In Depth look at Prime Minister Louis St. Laurent, airing 11:30 am and 6:30pm on the July 1st, as well as a look at The Succession of Queen Elizabeth II, 60 years on the Throne, airing at 9am and 5:30pm on the 1st.
Plus… AMI-audio will air exclusive interviews with the first Canadian in space, Marc Garneau along with hockey legend and Canadian Senator, Frank Mahovlich and MP, Justin Trudeau.
