Media Advisory - AMI-audio garners three more awards for outstanding programming
TORONTO, June 18, 2013 /CNW/ - Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) is pleased to announce that its AMI-audio channel was honoured at the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) Awards with a win in the Dave Rogers Long Feature category for the Contact program "A Special Report on Bullying". The thirty-minute audio program was produced by Jason Vermes along with Elaina Falcone and Paula Dineen, and executive produced by Paul Daniel.
"This piece was particularly timely and relevant given that bullying is such a serious social issue right across the country," explains Joe Lamanna, Manager, National Programming for AMI-audio. "Our hope is that we offered advice and a sense of hope for the victims and their families."
Across the border, two AMI-audio programs were recognized as finalists at the New York Festivals International Radio Program Awards, which took place on Monday, June 17th. In the Culture & The Arts category, AMI-audio was a finalist for the "Play Me I'm Yours (41 Pianos)" piece produced by Elaina Falcone and Paula Dineen, and narrated by Kelly MacDonald. In the History category, AMI-audio's Contact program was a finalist for its in depth production, "The Cuban Missile Crisis: 50 Years Later", produced by Paul Daniel and narrated by volunteer James Denas.
