Media Advisory - AMI launches new original series that promises to inspire, enlighten and generate a chuckle
TORONTO, March 11, 2015 /CNW/ - Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) announced today that it will launch a new original series that centres on the day-to-day tribulations and triumphs, with a comedic twist, of a person living with blindness.
The new 13-episode AMI original program entitled Blind Sighted focuses on AMI reporter Kelly MacDonald and life from his unique point-of-view. Born with Leber Congenital Amaurosis, Kelly's vision has been on a steady decline over the last number of years and he sees only shadows now. Never one to let his disability get in the way and always up for a challenge, Kelly confronts a number of tasks often reserved for the sighted community including indoor skydiving, driving through a mud bog and learning to surf. The journalist in Kelly also emerges as he interviews high profile Canadian personalities including actor Eric Peterson and retired astronaut Chris Hadfield.
"Kelly exemplifies what it means to live life to the fullest in this newest AMI original series," explains Brian Perdue, Director of Programming for AMI-tv. "Blind Sighted truly demonstrates that anything is possible with perseverance and the right attitude. Not to mention a sense of humour. Kelly tackles challenges that many of us wouldn't even attempt – sight or no sight! We're pleased to have this entertaining and enlightening show airing on AMI-tv."
Blind Sighted premieres Thursday, March 19 at 5:30 and 9:30 pm on AMI-tv. Check your local provider or visit AMI.ca for the AMI channels in your area.
