Media advisory - Amputee's successful career in U.S. television inspires at Richmond Hill Child Amputee Seminar
RICHMOND HILL, ON, Oct. 26, 2013 /CNW/ - Subrata De, who was born missing her left hand, remembers well the challenges of growing up as an amputee. Today, she will tell her success story to child amputees from across Ontario attending The War Amps 2013 Ontario Child Amputee (CHAMP) Seminar. She will describe with candour and humour her experiences growing up in the CHAMP Program, and how her amputation has not been a barrier to a successful life and career.
De, who grew up in Thunder Bay, began working with NBC in 1998 on its Dateline show, and was later a senior producer for NBC Nightly News. She is currently Executive Producer of MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell Reports. Subrata has won several industry awards, including four Emmys.
