What: | In light of the provincial election, Mr. Grant and Ms. Bradley will provide insight into the contraband tobacco problem in Ontario and on what actions are required, what commitments have been made and what action has actually taken place. The NCACT will also highlight results from a party questionnaire. |
Why: | Ontario has the worst contraband tobacco problem in Canada, and it's important that candidates in this election make it a priority. Contraband tobacco funds organized crime and facilitates youth smoking. It also costs taxpayers in Ontario more than $1 billion annually. As the election comes to a close, it is important that Ontarian's push candidates for action on this important issue. |
