Media Advisory - Assembly of First Nations National Chief Joins First Nations Leaders for Press Conference and Meeting with United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Français
OTTAWA, March31, 2015 /CNW/ - Assembly of First Nations (AFN) National Chief Perry Bellegarde will be at Westbank First Nation, B.C. today for a press conference and meeting with the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, Victoria Tauli-Corpuz. The meeting is organized by the Okanagan Nation Alliance and will include First Nations leaders and representatives from across B.C.
The press conference is being held prior to the meeting. The details as provided by the Okanagan Nation Alliance (ONA) are as follows:

The purpose of the meeting, according to organizers, is "…to share, first hand, the challenges and issues that the First Nations people in British Columbia are facing." The National Chief will deliver Opening Remarks at the meeting on behalf of the AFN and First Nations across Canada.
