Media Advisory - Assembly of First Nations Special Chiefs Assembly, December

OTTAWA , Dec. 3 /CNW Telbec/ - The Assembly of First Nations, the national political organization representing First Nations in Canada , will convene a Special Chiefs Assembly at the Westin Hotel, Ottawa , Ontario December 8-10, 2009. The theme for this year's Assembly will be First Nations Crown Relations.

    
    Highlights will include:

    December 8

    -  10:00 a.m.  National Chief Shawn Atleo's opening Address:  "It's Our
       Time to Fulfill our Rightful place as Indigenous Nations" which will
       include a report on his first months in office and a forward-looking
       plan of action.

    -  12:30 pm -12:50 pm. Media availability with National Chief Shawn
       Atleo, Nova Scotia Room
