Media Advisory - Assembly of First Nations to Convene National Special Chiefs Assembly in Gatineau: National Chief Perry Bellegarde to Hold Press Conference Tuesday, December 6 Français
OTTAWA, Dec. 2, 2016 /CNW/ - First Nation leaders, Elders, youth and citizens from across the country are gathering next week for the Assembly of First Nations (AFN) Special Chiefs Assembly (SCA) at Hilton Lac Leamy in Gatineau (QC), from December 6-8. Chiefs and delegates will gather under the theme "Advancing Reconciliation" to discuss key priorities and set strategies for the coming year. Federal Cabinet Ministers and other speakers will participate throughout the three day Assembly.
AFN National Chief Perry Bellegarde will provide Opening Remarks to the Assembly at approximately 8:50 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6 and will hold a press conference at 3:00 p.m. that day at Hilton Lac Leamy in the Julien Room.
The Grand Entry will take place Tuesday, December 6 at 8:30 a.m. First Nations in Canada will be honouring Gord Downie for his work on the Secret Path/Downie-Wenjack fund at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6.
