MEDIA ADVISORY - Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario
Commemorates its 60th Anniversary
TORONTO, Nov. 4 /CNW/ - November 5th, 2010, six decades after its inception as the Nursery Education Association of Ontario, the Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario (AECEO) marks its 60th anniversary, celebrating its many achievements on behalf of early childhood educators and early learning in Ontario.
As part of our 60th Anniversary we wish to recognize our rich history of accomplishment made possible by many dedicated individuals. The AECEO prides itself on the collaborative efforts that have allowed us to forge valuable relationships and achieve our mission during six productive decades.
Throughout its history the Association has played a key leadership role in developments in early childhood education in the areas of training, public awareness, certification, equivalency, networking, professional development, supporting quality early learning and care and in gaining recognition for the profession.
We are very proud that our 20 year campaign for the advancement of early childhood educators in the province through the creation of a professional regulatory body for ECEs was a resounding success, culminating in the historic establishment of the College of Early Childhood Educators in 2007.
The AECEO has also been an important participant in one of the most significant accomplishments in early childhood education, and a major development for ECEs in this province; the implementation of Ontario's full day early learning program. We are honoured to represent the voice of early childhood educators as we move forward on this journey to transform early learning in Ontario.
Celebration events are planned in AECEO Branches across Ontario.
The Provincial celebration event is being held at:
