Media Advisory - BC Assembly of First Nations AGM and Election
VANCOUVER, June 23, 2015 /CNW/ - The BC Assembly of First Nations (BCAFN) is holding its 13th Annual General Meeting (AGM) June 24th-25th, 2015 at the Sheraton Wall Centre in Vancouver, BC. On June 24th BCAFN will officially launch Supporting Leaders of Change—A User's Guide to the BCAFN Governance Toolkit and outgoing BCAFN Regional Chief Puglaas (Jody Wilson-Raybould) will deliver her final report to the Chiefs. The Annual General Assembly will also be a forum for updates and dialogue on key initiatives and activities. On June 25th an election by secret ballot will be held for the Office of the BC Regional Chief. The election for BC Regional Chief, originally scheduled for Fall 2015, was moved forward as part of the transition plan for the outgoing Regional Chief in recognition of her running in the upcoming federal election. The BCAFN Regional Chief is elected by the 203 Chiefs of BC.
