Media Advisory - Bill Cosby scheduled to appear at Vancouver Technical

VANCOUVER , Nov. 12 /CNW/ - River Rock Show Theatre is pleased to announce that legendary actor and comedian Bill Cosby will take the stage at the Vancouver Technical Secondary (VanTech) at 1 p.m. tomorrow afternoon.

When Dr. Cosby , heard of the special programs that VanTech has for at risk youth and numerous other student programs, he got the desire to speak to the students about the importance of education. Dr. Cosby is passionate about education as he earned his Doctor of Education degree from the University of Massachusetts in 1976.

This unique opportunity would not be possible without the assistance of Howard Blank , Vice President, Entertainment and Media with the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation.

"I have known Dr. Cosby for years and thought it would be a great occasion for students at VanTech to hear him speak. I mentioned to Dr. Cosby that VanTech is one of the best schools in Vancouver as it offers specialized programs to meet the needs of diverse learners. We all grew up with Dr. Cosby and I think this will be a treat for many," said Blank.
