MEDIA ADVISORY - Black Lives Matter - Toronto to hold Nation-wide demonstrations for Abdirahman Abdi
TORONTO, Aug. 23, 2016 /CNW/ - Black Lives Matter - Toronto will hold a demonstration at the Special Investigations Unit Headquarters on the evening of Wednesday, August 24 to demand justice for Abdirahman Abdi. Abdirahman Abdi was killed by police officers Dave Weir and Daniel Montison in Ottawa on July 24.

In addition to this demonstration, Black community ties will join in the call for justice in cities across the country, including in Ottawa, Kitchener/Waterloo, Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, London, Hamilton, and Sudbury.

Hamilton: Rally to be held by Black Lives Matter - Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. EST at the Attorney General Office (119 King St W)
Ottawa: Rally to be held at 7:00 p.m. EST at the Ottawa Police Services (474 Elgin St)
Kitchener/Waterloo: Rally to be held at 7:00 p.m. EST at the Kitchener City Hall (200 King St W)
