MONTREAL, March 13, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - As part of the International Year of Cooperatives, Montreal's cooperatives invite journalists to a briefing where they will present a self-portrait and launch their first group communications campaign.
Attending this event will be Monique F. Leroux, president and CEO of Mouvement des caisses Desjardins and new chair of the Conseil québécois de la coopération et de la mutualité, Pierre-Alain Cotnoir, president of the Coopérative de développement régional de Montréal-Laval, and Hélène Simard, president and CEO of the Conseil québécois de la coopération et de la mutualité.
In addition, to illustrate the vitality of cooperatives in Montreal, three examples of consumer co-operatives will be presented: the Coopérative d'Habitation Le Cercle Carré, Café Campus and Coopsco, the banner for 60 Quebec school co-ops.
Lastly, Denis Richard, chair of the board of Coop Fédérée, André Noël, general director of the Fédération des coopératives d'habitation intermunicipale du Montréal métropolitain, and actor Jacques L'Heureux, president of the Caisse Desjardins de la Culture, a cooperative financial institution that provides services to cultural organizations, will also be in attendance.
The briefing will take place Thursday, March 15, at 11 a.m., at the Salle Astral, Maison du Festival, in Montreal.
