MISSISSAUGA, ON, May 7, 2015 /CNW/ - Members of the media are invited to the launch of a photographic census of family caregivers - parents, colleagues, friends, neighbours ─ who have to balance their personal commitments, unpaid caregiving duties and work responsibilities.
Caring for family, friends and loved ones, once seen as a personal and private matter in family life, has now become one of the most important social policy issues in Canada and the world. With over 6.1 million Canadians balancing caring and work responsibilities, the federal government has a critical role to play in supporting the health and well-being of these individuals.
You have the opportunity to attend this special preview of the Canadian Caregiver Coalition Caregiver Photo-Exhibit and meet with family caregivers and employers to learn about their challenges and how they have developed strategies to support balancing care and work.
