MEDIA ADVISORY - CAMH president and CEO Catherine Zahn to speak about why Canadians deserve the right to mental health care
OTTAWA, Oct. 26, 2016 /CNW/ - Following the federal, provincial, territorial meeting on health care, media are invited to hear Centre for Addiction and Mental Health president Catherine Zahn make a passionate and timely speech about the right to mental health care and why Canadians deserve a just health accord.
While mental illness awareness continues to grow, too many people are still not getting the care they need. Funding levels do not match the burden of illness and wait lists continue to soar. Zahn will discuss why the negotiation of a new health accord is an historic opportunity to eliminate barriers people with mental health issues face.
