Media Advisory - Canada can't Ignore Mid-Sized Cities - Two day event in Advance of Federation of Canadian Municipalities Conference
CALGARY, June 1, 2015 /CNW/ - Urban issues are increasing in volume and importance as infrastructure ages, density increases and Canada becomes increasingly urbanized. But does too much of the conversation focus on Canada's biggest cities? And who is speaking for the needs of mid-sized cities? What are the policy issues that are specific to mid-sized cities and how should policy makers address those problems?
Media are invited to attend, either via phone or in person, a truly unique symposium being hosted by Canada's flagship policy school, The School of Public Policy at the University of Calgary. The event lasts for two days, but media can drop in and out as is convenient.
To dial into the symposium at any time, call 1.800.920.7487. Call Morten Paulsen for a passcode.
A detailed event program with speakers can be found at this link: Please note, all times are in mountain. http://policyschool.ucalgary.ca/sites/default/files/IssuesAffectingMidSizeCities.pdf
