Media Advisory - Canada Day weekend live racecard reduced due to shortage of race-ready horses
VANCOUVER, June 26, 2013 /CNW/ - Hastings Racecourse and Slots advises racing fans that the upcoming Canada Day live racing weekend will be reduced with the cancellation of the Saturday June 29th meet. Simulcast and off-track wagering will be open and available as usual.
The Canada Day race weekend will now commence on Sunday June 30th and continue with live thoroughbred racing on Monday, July 1st (Canada Day) with Sunday featuring eight live race cards, and holiday Monday featuring ten live race cards with parade to the post at 1:50 p.m.
The Canada Day race card will feature four $50,000 stakes races and fun for the entire family as Hastings Racecourse and Slots celebrates Canada's 146th birthday.
The Friday July 5th evening live race card is also cancelled due to shortage of race-ready equine. Hastings Racecourse and Slots apologizes to guests for any inconvenience that these cancellations may cause and invites fans to come out for two terrific days of live racing action June 30th and July 1st, 2013.
