Media Advisory - Canada's Citizenship and Immigration Minister, Chris Alexander, celebrates 50th anniversary of Canada's flag with Toronto's newest citizens Français
TORONTO, Feb. 12, 2015 /CNW/ - Canada's Citizenship and Immigration Minister, Chris Alexander, and the Hon. Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, will welcome 100 new citizens at a special citizenship ceremony at Ryerson's Mattamy Athletic Centre (formerly Maple Leaf Gardens).
After the ceremony, the new citizens will be invited to take part in a special event marking the 50th anniversary of the official adoption of Canada's national flag. Minister Alexander, Her Honour Elizabeth Dowdeswell, and the new Canadians will be among 2,015 people who will form a living re-creation of the Canadian flag.
