Canadian Diabetes Association unveils sculpture in London, Ontario at home
of Sir Frederick Banting to commemorate the idea that led to the discovery of insulin

LONDON, ON, Oct. 28 /CNW/ - In celebration of the 90th anniversary of the birth of Sir Frederick Banting's idea that led to the discovery of insulin, the Canadian Diabetes Association is hosting a special event in London, Ontario at Banting House National Historic Site of Canada.
A highlight of the event will be the unveiling of a three-metre high sculpture designed by local artist Daniel Castillo to serve as a symbol of the ongoing research conducted around the world in search of a cure for diabetes. The sculpture also represents how the world continues to look to Canada and the Canadian Diabetes Association as world class experts in the field of diabetes research, service, advocacy and education.
