Whitehorse: Call for greater openness and transparency in government
WHITEHORSE, Aug. 30 /CNW/ - Canada's information commissioners and ombudsmen representing federal, provincial and territorial jurisdictions will hold a media availability to discuss their joint resolution about the importance of governments sharing information with the public in more accessible, open formats.
The Open Government Resolution will be issued during the annual meeting of Canada's information and privacy commissioners and ombudspeople, hosted this year by the Ombudsman and Information and Privacy Commissioner for Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Tracy-Anne McPhee. The Open Government Resolution and news release will be available, distributed via newswire and posted online, at 8:30 a.m. (PDT) September 1, 2010.
