Media Advisory - Canada's newest political satire site is opening its doors and asking Canadians to open their wallets.
The "Satire Project" serious about being hosted at rabble.ca
TORONTO, Nov. 9, 2012 /CNW/ - From laugh-out-loud videos to political cartoons, memes, web series, and blogs, The Satire Project (http://www.TheSatireProject.ca) is gearing up to be Canada's hub for razor-sharp political mockery and comedic commentary. Serving as marketing and distribution partner is rabble.ca, which, with over 2 million unique page views a month, is Canada's most popular source of independent news and views.
The Satire project's co-creators, Andreas Krebs and Suzanne Gallant, are raising $30,000 in seed funding through Indiegogo.com (http://www.indiegogo.com/the-satire-project). Donations can be made until Friday, November 16th and the organizers are offering irreverent perks to donors including caricature buttons of federal party political leaders and a Stephen Harper stress ball. Said Krebs, "We need someone to be poking the Canadian political establishment in the eye, all the time, nonstop. The Satire Project will be going 24/7, 365 days a year — it's a product of the internet, and serves the internet generation."
"Satire is an important part of any balanced democratic diet," said rabble.ca Publisher Kim Elliott, "we're excited to be serving it up, hot or cold."
