Media Advisory - Canada's nursing leaders share health-care solutions with parliamentarians Français
OTTAWA, Nov. 22, 2012 /CNW/ - The leadership of the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) is gathering on Parliament Hill on Tuesday, November 27, for an intensive round of meetings with more than 40 MPs and senators. Representing Canada's registered nurses — the largest group of health-care professionals in the country — CNA president Barb Mildon and other provincial/territorial nurse leaders will present parliamentarians with real solutions to help improve Canada's health-care system. They will draw extensively from the work of CNA's independent National Expert Commission, which spent a year discovering the most efficient, effective and sustainable ways to meet the changing and pressing health needs of Canadians.
In addition to presenting solutions centred on key health and health-care system outcomes, health impact assessments, and the social determinants of health, CNA will release the results of a nationwide Nanos Research poll. Canadians across the country were surveyed for their opinions on what could make the country healthier and what role the federal government should play.
