TORONTO, April 7, 2014 /CNW/ - Canadian comedic talent and the country's top athletes are coming together on Monday, April 7 to officially start the search for 20,000 of the country's top volunteers to be the heart of the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games.
Olympic ice hockey gold medallist Natalie Spooner, Paralympic swimming champ Benoît Huot and volunteer Gabriela Gonzalez will join the Honourable Kathleen Wynne, Premier of Ontario, in officially launching the TORONTO 2015 Volunteer Program, presented by Chevrolet, while surrounded by volunteers and other members of the Games community.
The volunteer recruitment drive for the Games is one of the largest in Ontario peacetime history, and will leave a lasting legacy of volunteerism in our communities.
Most of the speakers, and a number of pre-Games volunteers, will be available to media after the announcement.
