Media Advisory - Canadian Contribution Training Mission - Afghanistan - Ceremony for Soon-To-Be-Deployed Troops Français
VALCARTIER GARRISON, Quebec City , Sept. 27, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Media representatives are invited to attend a ceremony to mark the end of training and the upcoming deployment of approximately 850 CF members who will make up the Canadian Contribution Training Mission - Afghanistan (CCTM-A) for eight months.

This gathering is one of the last times that the media will have an opportunity to meet CF members and their families before the contingent gradually starts to leave for Afghanistan starting in mid-October 2012. Until their deployment, these soldiers will be given a period of rest and will no longer be available for interviews.
The ceremony will be presided over by Brigadier-General Richard Giguère, commander of Land Force Quebec Area and Joint Task Force (East). The Honourable Pierre Duchesne, Lieutenant Governor of Quebec, and the Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Veterans Affairs and MP for Lévis-Bellechasse, have confirmed their attendance at the event to greet the troops.
