OTTAWA, May 25, 2015 /CNW/ - Canada's energy leaders in industry and associations, academics, government officials, First Nations' leaders, professional service providers, and ENGO representatives from across Canada's energy sector will meet in Toronto for the Energy Council of Canada's 2015 Canadian Energy Summit.
Telling the Energy Story is the central theme for the Summit. The aim is to raise awareness and improve understanding of the many ways that the energy sector influences the economy, regional development, innovation, and Aboriginal Partnerships across Canada. We believe that improved understanding will lead to better-informed energy dialogue and energy decisions.
Eight sessions featuring 40+ speakers and panelists make up the Summit program. Speakers include: The Honourable Michelle Rempel, Minister of State (Western Economic Diversification, and The Honourable Perrin Beatty (CCC), Andrew Coyne (National Post), The Honourable Sergio Marchi (CEA), Tim McMillan (CAPP), Nik Nanos, François Poirier (Energy East Pipeline), Dean Oskvig representing the World Energy Council, and Annette Verschuren (NRStor Inc.).
The World Energy Council's 2015 Energy Trilemma report will be officially released during the Summit dinner, containing ideas and guidance for policymakers as they set climate goals and design policies in international and domestic forums.
