Media Advisory - Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions President Joins ONA CCAC Members on the Picket Lines in Smiths Falls
SMITHS FALLS, ON, Feb. 3, 2015 /CNW/ - Linda Silas, RN, President of the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU) and the National Executive Board of the CFNU are be in Smiths Falls today on the picket lines to support Ontario Nurses' Association striking South East CCAC workers.
Silas will be joined by the nurse leaders from the Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and PEI provincial nurses' unions in front of the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital. They and ONA Region 2 Vice-President Anne Clark, RN will be with CCAC health professionals from 10 am to 2:00 pm.
ONA is the union representing 60,000 nurse practitioners, registered nurses and allied health professionals, as well as more than 14,000 nursing student affiliates providing care in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, clinics and industry.
