Federal Budget Implications for Post-secondary Education and Research
OTTAWA, March 3 /CNW Telbec/ - Canadian Federation of Students' National Chairperson Katherine Giroux-Bougard will be available on Parliament Hill for comment immediately following the tabling of the federal budget on March 4.
During pre-budget consultations, the Canadian Federation of Students made the following recommendations:
- Increase funding to the post-secondary education portion of the Canada Social Transfer; - Redirect funding from education tax credits to up-front student grants; - Strengthen financial support for Aboriginal students.
