TORONTO, June 17, 2013 /CNW/ - The Canadian Gaming Association together with senior representatives from Canada's provincial lottery and gaming corporations will be calling on the Senate of Canada to end the flow of illegal sports wagering. Since Bill C290 entered the Senate of Canada 469 days ago, more than $18 billion in illegal sports wagering has flowed to offshore sports books or local bookmaking operations run by organized crime.

Canadian Gaming Industry Gathers in Montreal for
17th Annual Canadian Gaming Summit
June 17, 2012—Over 1,000 gaming industry professionals from across Canada and around the world are gathering at the Palais des congres in Montreal, Quebec for the 17th Annual Canadian Gaming Summit June 17-19th.
The 2013 Summit features over 50 seminars, roundtables and discussions covering all facets of the gaming industry. The educational tracks at the Summit include sports wagering, marketing, online gaming, security and surveillance, gaming operations and technology, and legal and regulatory aspects of the industry. The Summit also features a distinct Charitable Gaming Conference.
The 50,000 square foot exhibit floor features over 50 exhibitors displaying the latest in gaming equipment, products and services.
The Summit will conclude on June 19th with the Canadian Gaming Industry Awards and Charity Gala, which will also feature the 4th Annual Canadian First Nation Gaming Awards honouring achievements in industry leadership. This year, the event will benefit la Maison du Pere in Montreal.
