Media Advisory - Canadian Nurses Association and Canadian Medical Association to be in Victoria during Council of the Federation meeting Français
OTTAWA, Jan. 11, 2012 /CNW/ - Dr. Judith Shamian, President of the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA), and Dr. John Haggie, President of the Canadian Medical Association (CMA), will be in Victoria Jan. 15-17, 2012, while the Council of the Federation meets.
Dr. Haggie and Dr. Shamian will be available for media interviews to comment on the important discussion on health care among the country's provincial and territorial leaders. The CMA and CNA hope the meeting will focus on how the health care system can be transformed into one that fosters the healthiest population possible.
In July 2011, the CMA and CNA jointly developed a set of principles to guide Canada's premiers as they map out a transformation of the health care system. (The complete Principles to Guide Health Care Transformation in Canada is available at http://www.cma.ca/advocacy/hctprinciples.)
