TORONTO, Aug. 4 /CNW/ - The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) will introduce Canada's Chef de Mission for the London 2012 Olympic Games tomorrow, August 5th, and will introduce the individual in a nationwide conference call beginning at 11 a.m. ET.
The Games of the XXX (30th) Olympiad are less than two years away, running July 27 to August 12, 2012.
The Chef de Mission is selected by the COC as the official representative and spokesperson of the Canadian Olympic Team (COT), and a key member of the overall leadership team for Canada's participation in the Olympic Games. This individual's leadership and insight of the Olympic Movement is an invaluable asset to the delegation in the implementation of the Games operational plan. Their experience and expertise is of utmost importance in the interaction with key stakeholders, both nationally and internationally. While at the Games, the Chef will support and promote the COT by helping to create an onsite environment conducive to achieving optimal performance, in-line with the Team goals set for London 2012.
