MEDIA ADVISORY - Canadian Olympic Team to Name 2012 Assistant Chef de Mission
MONTREAL, Nov. 22 /CNW/ - The Canadian Olympic Team will make a formal announcement regarding Canada's Assistant Chef de Mission for the London 2012 Olympic Games this Wednesday, November 24 at 2 p.m. in Montreal.
This Assistant Chef has been an inspiration to countless athletes, a Canadian legend in sport, and a prominent leader in the community. This individual will be the 18th Canadian to be named Assistant Chef for a Summer Games since the title first appeared in 1948.
Chef de Mission and three-time Olympic medallist in swimming, Mark Tewksbury, will be on hand to proudly introduce the Assistant Chef who will join him in leading Canada into London 20 months from now. The primary role of the Assistant Chef is to work alongside Tewksbury in supporting and promoting the Canada Olympic Team and coordinating Canada's participation in the 2012 Olympic Games.
