Media advisory - Canadian Professor Keynote at Launch of Major Political Party in Brazil
MONTREAL, March 1, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - World-renowned Canadian management thinker Henry Mintzberg will give the opening keynote at the launch of Brazilian presidential candidate Marina Silva's new political party.
Marina Silva has run for the Brazilian presidency twice, in the hope of being the first black woman of poor origins to attain that office. She is revered for breaking new ground and many prominent Brazilians think she will be the next president. Inspired by a talk Henry Mintzberg gave in São Paulo in October, Silva invited him to kick-off the launch of her Sustainability Network on March 3 in Brasilia with a speech in English about Brazil's role in rebalancing society.
Mintzberg is the Cleghorn Professor of Management Studies at McGill's Desautels Faculty of Management. He is the author of 17 books, including Rebalancing Society and an upcoming book dispelling the myths of health care. He is also founder of McGill's International Masters For Health Management and the International Masters in Practicing Management, two programs that also break new ground for how managers are developed.
