Who: The Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA) proudly welcomes wind and renewable energy experts to gather at the CanWEA Western Forum 2015 on April 27-28, 2015 at the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown in Vancouver, BC.
What: Explore the political, economic, social and environmental contexts for continued development of the wind energy industry in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. CanWEA Western Forum sessions will provide perspectives from a broad range of stakeholders on achievements, business prospects and the winning conditions for sustainable growth of the wind energy industry in Western Canada. The Honourable Bill Bennett, Minister of Energy and Mines and Minister Responsible for Core Review will provide a keynote address. Please see our detailed event program.

Why: The third annual Western Forum will take an in-depth look at how western wind energy market realities can translate into new opportunities for wind energy in the region. The 1½-day event will examine each of the individual markets, British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan and broader themes, like climate change and the impacts of declining oil prices, which cut across provincial boundaries - providing delegates with important insight in light of recent market developments. This year's program will also include a session on Saskatchewan, where government-owned SaskPower is in the process of developing a new 10-year power supply plan.
