Media advisory - CATSA helps passengers breeze through security at YYC during the busy Holiday Season Français
CALGARY, Nov. 28, 2014 /CNW/ - Members of the media are invited to an information session aimed at providing passengers with advice to breeze through security this holiday season. With more than 35,000 travellers expected through security on December 23 & 24 alone, the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) wants everyone to have a quick and hassle-free experience at the checkpoint.

CATSA, established in 2002, is a Crown corporation responsible for:
- Pre-board screening - the screening of passengers, their carry-on baggage and their personal belongings;
- Hold-baggage screening – the screening of checked baggage;
- Non-passenger screening – the screening of non-passengers on a random basis; and
- Restricted Area Identity Card – the administration of access control to airport restricted areas through biometric identifiers.
