TORONTO, Sept. 28, 2012 /CNW/ - CAW shop floor leadership from Chrysler workplaces in Windsor, Brampton and Etobicoke unanimously endorsed a new four-year collective agreement at a meeting held earlier today in Toronto.
The tentative deal, announced on September 26, follows the pattern agreement established at Ford, and mirrored at General Motors. It rejects permanent two-tier wages, provides cost of living lump sum payments as well as job security provisions, among other gains.
CAW President Ken Lewenza said the strong endorsement of the deal is recognition of the master bargaining committee's hard work in recent weeks.
"Our committee has worked 'round the clock to win a deal that maintains the pattern set at Ford, against the stiffest of odds," Lewenza said.
