Media Advisory - Celebrating the Things That Make Us Canadian
- Canada Day Events at Black Creek Pioneer Village and Albion Hills Conservation Area Embody The Spirit of Canadiana -
TORONTO, June 25, 2012 /CNW/ - Canada Day is an opportunity to celebrate the unique and quintessential parts of what make us Canadian, including our great outdoors and unique cultural history, at two great events at Albion Hills Conservation Area and Black Creek Pioneer Village.
For those interested in celebrating Canada's great outdoors, Albion Hills Conservation Area (Ontario's first conservation area on the banks of the Humber River) will be holding their annual Caledon Canada Day Celebration, featuring a spectacular fireworks display, food vendors, magic show, children's activities, hay rides, petting zoo, live music, pedal and canoe rentals, and prize raffle. Visitors can also explore the extensive mountain biking trail network, take a dip at Lakeview Splash (additional fee), hike on the trails or have a family picnic. Only a short 45 minute drive from Toronto, this event is the perfect opportunity to enjoy nature close to home.
For those who want to celebrate Canada's roots, Black Creek Pioneer Village is hosting a Dominion Day Celebration, where visitors can come and see what life was like on the very first Canada Day on July 1st, 1867. Festivities include family activities, such as traditional ice cream making, live music, historic brewery tours, a 'Great Confederation Debate', and even a citizenship ceremony (From 2:00PM - 3:00PM at the event pavilion) where 30 new Canadians will be welcomed into their new home and celebrate Canada Day!
