Media Advisory - CFIB's Laura Jones, Mike Klassen available to comment on municipal spending at FCM Conference
TORONTO, May 31, 2013 /CNW/ - Executive vice president Laura Jones and director of provincial affairs Mike Klassen of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) are available throughout the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) conference to comment on unsustainable municipal spending.
"CFIB's research shows spending is increasing by as much as three to eight times the rate of population growth in Canada's largest cities," said Jones. "It's time that we changed the conversation to move away from the persistent demands for new tax revenues from our local governments to one that's serious about addressing the problem of over-spending."
