TORONTO, Oct. 14 /CNW/ - On Friday, November 5, 2010, celebrate the International Year of Biodiversity with Honourary Event Chair George Stroumboulopoulos at the 17th Annual Charles Sauriol Environmental Dinner for The Living City©, for an evening of music and comedy with The Second City and The Wilderness of Manitoba. This event celebrates the great conservationist and visionary Charles Sauriol. It is one of Canada's largest environmental events and raises funds to continue Sauriol's work of keeping the country green by protecting conservation lands and green space in the Toronto region. All proceeds support The Conservation Foundation of Greater Toronto and Oak Ridges Moraine Land Trust to protect ecologically significant lands.

- The Second City: The Second City has been performing sketch comedy in front of audiences for nearly 50 years, making it the standard by which comedy and improv in North America is judged. - The Wilderness of Manitoba: Will Whitwham, Scott Bouwmeester, Stefan Banjevic and Melissa Dalton make up The Wilderness of Manitoba. Best known for their minimalist approach to music, The Wilderness of Manitoba has won over Canada's indie circuit simply through the strength of their voices and melodies.
- Essay Contest Winner: Spencer McGregor, Ancaster ON: Ontario Nature's Writing and Art Contest, Youth Writing Awards 2009 was open to students in Grades 7 and 8. Spencer's essay entitled "Sensing Change" was awarded top prize.

The Second City has been performing sketch comedy in front of audiences for over 49 years making it the standard by which comedy and improv in America is judged. So much talent has come from the ranks of the company's many theaters over the years, it reads like a who's who of contemporary American comedy.
