Media Advisory - Children's Wish creates the magic of a wish in Amherst

DARTMOUTH, NS, May 6, 2013 /CNW/ - On Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada will be presenting Wish Child, Ashley Simmonds with her Wish Package in anticipation of her most heartfelt wish, a trip to Disney World with a stay at Give Kids The World.

The package includes: airline tickets, Disney arrangements as well as fun stuff like a Children's Wish backpack, t-shirt, buttons as well as a photography package from Blacks Photo Corporation.

Diagnosed with Brain Tumor in 2010, the seven-year-old chose trip to Florida to visit Disney World and to stay at the renown Give Kids the World resort, giving not only herself a well deserved break from Doctors visits and treatments, but her family a chance to enjoy a stress free vacation together.

Ashley and her family will be picking up the package at McIsaac-Darragh Chartered Accountants on 11 Princess Street in Amherst.

The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada

Each year, thousands of Canadian children between the ages of three and 17 are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.  Since 1984, The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada has worked tirelessly to grant exceptional wishes to 19,000 children and their families.

This year, the Foundation expects to grant 1,000 new wishes and is proud to have never refused a wish to an eligible child, and with the help of volunteers and generous donors, is able to grant nearly three wishes every day.  Each wish is an individual adventure, carefully structured to meet the needs of a particular child and family. The Foundation is a grassroots charity with chapters in every province and territory.
