The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada
Each year, thousands of Canadian children between the ages of three and 17 are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. Since 1984, The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada has worked tirelessly to grant exceptional wishes to over 19,000 children and their families.
This year, the Foundation expects to grant 1,000 new wishes and is proud to have never refused a wish to an eligible child, and with the help of volunteers and generous donors, is able to grant nearly three wishes every day. Each wish is an individual adventure, carefully structured to meet the needs of a particular child and family. The Foundation is a grassroots charity with chapters in every province and territory. Children's Wish Month presented by Scotiabank
March was proclaimed Children's Wish Month in British Colombia by Shirley Bond; Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Judith Guichon; Lieutenant General and Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson. Children's Wish Month, sponsored by Scotiabank, is a month-long celebration of the 19,000 wishes that Children's Wish has granted across Canada over the past 28 years to children diagnosed with a life threatening illness. The events scheduled throughout Children's Wish Month will also raise awareness and funds to grant future wishes. Ten children diagnosed with a life threatening illness from BC/Yukon will be granted their most heartfelt wish in March as a part of Children's Wish Month.
