MEDIA ADVISORY - CIRA to hold consultation in Winnipeg on the Internet's role
in economic development
WINNIPEG, Nov. 9 /CNW/ - On November 10, 2010, the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) will host a consultation in Winnipeg on how Canadians view the role of the Internet in their lives and the economy.
The consultation in Winnipeg is part of a CIRA-led initiative with the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) and the Media Awareness Network (MNet) to discuss, debate and propose directions for the development, deployment and governance of the Internet in Canada. IISD will help CIRA facilitate a group of about 20 participants in Winnipeg which will focus on the development of Canada's digital economy.
Although the session is by invitation only, a representative from CIRA will be available to speak with the media immediately following the event.
