TORONTO, Jan. 23, 2014 /CNW/ - Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI) Ontario Chapter, will be providing a luncheon seminar on Tuesday January 28, 2014: Andrew Willis' 180 Degree Perspective on Corporate Communications and Media.

CIRI Ontario invites you to hear from a person who was one of Canada's most read business writers. Now the Senior Vice President, Communications and Media at Brookfield Asset Management, Andrew Willis will share his views of how the media portrays the economy, issues at hand and companies from the various perspectives he has been involved in, past and present. Mr. Willis will share comments on what he looked for that made a story and what he does now to improve relations with the media.

About Our Speaker:

Andrew is Senior Vice President, Communications and Media at Brookfield Asset Management. He joined Brookfield in 2010, after a two-decade career in business journalism in newspapers, television and radio. He launched the 'Streetwise' column at The Globe and Mail, and also worked for BNN TV, CBC, Dow Jones/Wall Street Journal and The Financial Post. He has a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of King's College and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario. Andrew is the co-author of the book 'The Bre-X Fraud,' with former Globe and Mail business editor Douglas Goold. He lives in Toronto with his wife and two daughters.
