Media Advisory - CivicAction Launches Regional Transportation Champions Council
Civic leaders join forces to accelerate regional transportation network
TORONTO, July 11, 2012 /CNW/ - On Friday, July 13, CivicAction's Chair John Tory and CEO Mitzie Hunter will boost and broaden the conversation around transportation with the announcement of its Regional Transportation Champions Council.
Civic leaders will join Tory and Hunter as they announce the first wave of Champions Council members. They will speak to the group's plans to get more people talking about the urgent need to move people, goods, and services faster and more easily across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA), and the need for new sustainable ways to pay to do that.
The Council members represent a cross-section of rising and senior leaders from business, labour, institutions, and not-for-profit and community organizations across the GTHA. They will share stories on how heavily they rely on our regional transportation system and how motivated they are to help make it better.
