MEDIA ADVISORY - Civil Rights Organizations to Make Important Announcement on Bill C-24
TORONTO, Aug. 19, 2015 /CNW/ - The BC Civil Liberties Association (BCCLA) and the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers (CARL) will make an important announcement about Bill C-24 on Thursday.
As a result of this new law, dual citizens and people who have immigrated to Canada can have their citizenship taken away while other Canadians cannot. The law has been called anti-immigrant, anti-Canadian, anti-democratic, and unconstitutional.
The federal government has already begun revoking Canadians' citizenship on the basis of this law.
